The short version: your timers are made on your own device and never uploaded. There are no accounts, and we don’t sell or share personal data. We use Google Analytics to count visits.

Your timers and files

Everything you create is drawn and encoded in your browser. Your timer settings, videos, images and any font you upload are never sent to our servers.

Settings saved on your device

The site remembers your last timer settings, and any fonts you upload, in your browser’s local storage so they’re there next time. This stays on your device. You can clear it with “Reset all settings” or by clearing your browser data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages are popular, and see which downloads people use. It collects information such as the pages you visit, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, your approximate location (country or city), and when a download finishes, the type of file (for example MP4 or WebM). It never receives your timer, its text or the file itself.

Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) so it can tell visits apart. They last up to two years. Google processes this data on our behalf; you can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. To stop Google Analytics on every site, you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies for this site in your browser.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Fonts

Some fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers to download them.

Links to other sites

The “Support” link goes to Ko-fi. If you choose to tip, Ko-fi and its payment providers handle that payment under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details.

Children

TimerOverlay isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.

Your rights

Because we don’t hold accounts or personal profiles, there’s usually nothing stored about you. If you have a question about your data, including requests under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act, email [your email].
