An hour on the clock, without a green screen
This page loads a one-hour countdown, from 01:00:00 down to 00:00:00, in hh:mm:ss on a transparent background. Editors use an hour countdown for study-with-me and focus sessions, exam practice, “starting soon” screens, long workouts, cooking and baking videos, and “build it in one hour” challenges. The hh:mm:ss format keeps the timer the same width for the whole hour, so the numbers don’t shift when it drops below 60 minutes.
A timer this long stays on screen for the whole video, so it has to look clean over everything you film. A transparent timer has no green to key out, so changing light, shadows and green objects in the shot can’t break it. A green-screen timer needs its keyer tuned for each scene and still leaves a faint fringe around the digits. Use the transparent WebM in CapCut desktop, DaVinci Resolve or OBS, the PNG sequence in Premiere Pro, or the green-screen MP4 on iPhone.
A one-hour timer exports in well under a minute on most computers.

Which download should I use?
| Your editor | Best download | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| CapCut on iPhone / Android | Green-screen MP4 | Overlay → add the MP4 → Remove background → Chroma key, pick the green. Light text on a black MP4 also works with Blend → Screen. |
| CapCut desktop | Transparent WebM | Drag the WebM onto a track above your video. |
| DaVinci Resolve | Transparent WebM or PNG sequence | Put the clip on a track above your footage. |
| Premiere Pro / After Effects | PNG sequence (ZIP) | Unzip, import the first PNG and tick “Image Sequence”. The ZIP includes step-by-step notes. |
| Final Cut Pro / iMovie | Green-screen MP4 | Final Cut: Keyer effect. iMovie: Green/Blue Screen. |
| OBS Studio | Transparent WebM | Add a Media Source and choose the WebM. |
Which browsers work?
| Download | Works in | Doesn't work in |
|---|---|---|
| Transparent WebM | Chrome, Edge, Opera and Brave on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. Usually Chrome on Android too. | iPhone and iPad, whose video apps don't use WebM. Other browsers vary, and the page tells you. |
| MP4 and green-screen MP4 | Safari 16.4+ on Mac, iPhone and iPad (including Chrome and Firefox on iPhone, which use Safari's engine), Chrome and Edge, Firefox 130+ on computers, Chrome on Android. | Older browsers without WebCodecs. |
| PNG and PNG sequence | Every modern browser. | — |
The page checks your browser and marks any download that won't work. Videos are made much faster than real time: a 10-minute timer usually takes a few seconds, and it keeps going if you switch to another tab on a computer. On iPhone, keep the page open until it finishes.
Questions about the 1-hour countdown
How do I add a 5-minute warning?
Under Timed colour changes, add a change at 5:00 and pick orange or red. On a countdown it applies when the time left is at or below 5:00.
Can I use it as a “starting soon” screen?
Yes. Untick Transparent background, pick a background colour, add a label such as STARTING SOON and export the WebM or MP4. In OBS, add it as a Media Source.
Can I make it 30 minutes or 2 hours instead?
Yes. Change the hours and minutes under Length; the hh:mm:ss format keeps working.
